I have not had the chance to capture photos of another critter but I can imagine that it is not easy. Growing up, I had a pet rabbit at home and he wasn't the easiest thing to handle. Whenever I would try to pick him up he would begin hopping around his cage ( and sometimes liked to nibble on my finger). Applying this knowledge to photography, I feel that it would be difficult to photograph a rabbit because it would not be comfortable being held and something as large as the camera may be intimidating when coming toward it's face. I will be going to the shelter tomorrow (June 1st) to photograph the animals. I will compare how I think it would be to photograph a rabbit and how it really was!!
* The photographing of the small critters was harder then I thought. The picture below is the one I felt was of the best quality. In addition to photographing the rabbit I also tried photographing guinea pigs as well. Unfortunately those pictures did not come out clear, they appeared fuzzy :(
This is Roger rabbit ID # 72068
I bet photographing a rabbit would be hard as well. The fact that they are animals who hop, makes me think they would be going in all kinds of directions. I am excited to hear the results of what it is like once you photograph one.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear how it goes! I was really difficult for me. I am not use to working with little critters so I wasn't sure of the appropriate way to hold them. When I'm photographing a cat or dog I try to read their mood so I can get the best picture. Because I haven't had prior experience with little critters it was really challenging for me to figure out what they were feeling and what they were comfortable with and what they weren't. I'm sure since you have had prior experience you will do great!
ReplyDeleteThat makes complete sense! I found it very easy because the bunnies at the shelter were so friendly! Lucy is the black Rex breed and she is very jumpy and seems territorial because she thumps her feet at you, but it was very fun holding and cuddling the bunnies. Good luck, I hope it went well! Looking forward to your pictures!
ReplyDeleteThe flash doesn't help the bunny. We can see the reflection of the flash in the back of the cage, and it has given this rabbit red-eye. Also, the focus seems to be off. Little critters are very difficult, but I want you to go back and try again. Make sure the flash is off, and try refocusing!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was actually weird that there was that glare on the back of the cage, I am thinking it came from the overhead light, I had made sure my flash was off. I discovered that this was an alibino rabbit, so it naturally has red eyes. I was wondering what causes animals (such as rabbits) to be albino!
